My name is Terry L. Buckhalter, founder of the Rings of Achievement Foundation.
I want to share something real with you.
When I was getting ready to graduate, I wanted a class ring just like everyone else—but my mother couldn’t afford it.
I got a part-time job at a local florist shop and a grocery store. While working some evenings when not practicing sports and every weekend, I worked and saved my money, determined to reach that goal.
And when I finally earned that ring… it meant more than I ever imagined. From the first time I put my ring on until this very day, I still feel the same excitement and joy!
It wasn’t just a ring—it was pride, discipline, and proof that I could achieve something on my own. I was the first in my family to reach that level, and that feeling has stayed with me my entire life.
That’s why I created the Rings of Achievement Foundation.
There are students right now who are working hard, doing everything right—but may never experience that moment simply because of financial limitations.
My wife and I have been supporting this mission ourselves, because we believe in what it represents.
